A nice diversity of species were banded today including six warbler species. Highlights were a Townsend's Solitaire, an adult female Summer Tanager and Chestnut-sided Warbler, as well as another Magnolia Warbler and an Orange-crowned Warbler. Not a bad list of species for the tail end of migration.

Stop by and visit the banding station if you are around and share your bird/wildlife sightings.

****There is 3 more days for the Chico Basin Ranch to be open to birders until end of August. It is necessary for those birding the ranch to go online to register at
Aiken Audubon Website for a morning to visit. There is a daily registration fee.
Because of the new Leasing system the Ranch is not open all day or everyday for free roaming or birding. Please respect the new rules or there is a good chance the area could be closed all year to birding visits. I would not like to see that happen.

Have a good day,
