Today was quite similar to our previous days here, fairly slow with a trickle of migrants. We closed a bit early as the wind picked up but almost got in a full morning of banding. We finished with 8 newly banded birds and 3 recaptures of 10 species total.
Dusky Flycatcher - 1
Orange-crowned Warbler - 1
House Wren - 1
MacGillivray's Warbler - 1
'Mountain' White-crowned Sparrow - 1
Western Kingbird - 1
Spotted Towhee - 1
Northern Mockingbird - 1
American Robin - 2 recaptures from earlier this season
Brown Thrasher - 1 recapture from 9/4/2019
We are open 3 days per week (Friday - Sunday) through May 30th. We'll also be open Thurs May 20th. Chico Basin Ranch is once again open to the public and visitors are welcome at the banding station, click
here for more details on visiting. We are opening nets at about 5:40am and continuing for 5 hours, depending on weather.
