We are still experiencing slow and sparrow-y days here in Grand Junction, with 13 new birds and 8 recaptures.  Fortunately today's birds included two new species for the season - a Hermit Thrush and an Oregon Junco.

White-crowned Sparrow (Mountain) 2 new 1 recapture
White-crowned Sparrow (Gambel's) 8 new 5 recapture
Juniper Titmouse 1 recapture
Song Sparrow 1
Bushtit 1 recapture
Hermit Thrush 1 (FOS)
Oregon Junco 1 (FOS)

Visitors are welcome at the banding station - we start getting birds at around 7:45 and close around 11:30, weather permitting.  Banding goes until this Friday the 11th.  A front that is expected to move through on Wed/Thurs may interfere with banding on those days.  School groups arrive at around 9:30, so if you would like to visit it's best to arrive before then!
