Friends of Denver Parks would like some help identifying raptors that were seen recently in Denver's Hampden Heights Park North (formerly part of Hentzel Park Designated Natural Area) - an undeveloped area along Cherry Creek beneath Cherry Creek Reservoir that the city is attempting to trade with DPS for a building downtown.

Videos are posted at

One video shows the raptor well enough so someone more adept than I am might be able to identify it. Two more videos, that may or may not be of different raptors, record calls. If you can identify the raptors, please let friendsofd...@gmail.com know what they are.

Thanks for your help.

I received three direct responses and one second hand response. Thank you all for looking and getting back to me.

There seemed to be general agreement that it was a young raptor, but all of the responses were different: young Red-tailed Hawk, juvenile Golden Eagle, juvenile Swainson's Hawk, and juvenile Ferruginous Hawk. I imagine all four people would agree that a better video would have helped!
