Hi all
Still no Rough-leggeds or Merlin ... another fantastic day for raptoring on Sunday--zero wind and mild temperature. Found 52 raptors including:
- UNID accipiter - 1
- Red-tailed Hawk - 19
- American Kestrel - 17
- UNID buteo - 2
- Ferruginous Hawk - 9
- Northern Harrier - 2
- Golden Eagle - 1
- Prairie Falcon - 1
***NOTE TO ALL*** We stopped by Fossil Creek Regional Park (loaded with waterfowl) and Horseshoe Lake in Loveland. Horseshoe Lake is being drained (completely) for winter to repair some inlet-area on Boyd Lake side. Few puddles remain. Talked with some locals who were trying to pull three vehicles out of deep mud trying to build a temporary bridge across Horseshoe Lake mud pit.
