Both birds were visible from the handicapped fisherman's platform near the marina this morning, with the loon closer to the sandspit and the grebe near the dam. Cheryl Teuton Aurora

The Yellow-billed Loon continues to forage in Chatfield Reservoir but may not be visible from the handicapped fisherman's platform as the bird has moved further southwest towards what used to be the swim beach on the Jefferson County side of the lake. It is most easily viewed from the "Heronry Overlook" by looking northwest. Patience is required as the bird is diving much of the time. Whether it is in Jefferson or Douglas County (or both) is up to your imagination.
