to Colorado Birding
Greetings All
Today Dave Dowell and I birded Kiowa. The list of highlights was staggering, perhaps due to wicked weather farther south
Brown-Crested Flycatcher- fresh plumage bird in the locusts at Neenoshe Locust grove. Also there, one worn GC Flycatcher
Little Gull - 6 - yes 6- fresh juvs at Upper Queens
Laughing Gull - immature, presumably ongoing, at Neenoshe
Curve-billed Thrasher- one at wetlands south of Eads (it's a hotspot)
Myrtle Warbler - ridiculously early bird at Upper Queens
Rufous and Calliope Hummingbirds in Eads at gardens
Mississippi Kite- high over Lower Queens Reservoir
Great Crested Flycatchers- 3 more at Upper Queens and 1 at wetlands south of Eads
Macgillivrays Warbler- wetland south of Eads
The indigo bunting - Upper Queens Reservoir
Passerines on the move. Lots of Gulls, terns, herons. No shorebirds
Good luck and good birding
