The adult male WW Scoter in alternate plumage was seen by several observers
from 8:30 thru 9:15. It was best seen from the east end of the
dam in line with a red buoy, diving for about a minute.
The Yellow-billed Loon was also present.

Great that the loon and scoter continue on the South Platte Park Res today! And if birders are looking for more in the area, while not near as rare and still beautiful birds, There has have been a group of 20-30 cedar waxwings have been around Carson Nature Center (Arapaho County ) for the past 2-3 days.  Check the junipers along east side of the nature center and young cottonwoods to the north. A couple nice waxwing photos posted at: https://www.facebook.com/SouthPlattePark/posts/10156995469449863

I posted this two days ago, but haven't seen it on cobirds:

McLellan reservoir is just across Santa Fe to the east of the y-b loon's current location.  On 12-15-89, I saw my lifer y-b loon there.

Have also seen them in Alaska, and have a great flying shot from the point at Gambell.
