In my Centennial yard this morning, a Lincoln's Sparrow, a FOY Dusky Flycatcher, and a FOY Green-tailed Towhee. That final bird remains my favorite common (and reliable) Denver metro migrant. It seems an impossible-looking bird. Without binoculars and in the shade of bushes, you just get the impression of this gray, drab thing. Of course, get the optics on it -- and with the help of some light -- and you have the rusty red head, the bright throat, and the greens! (What sparrow has green?)
I've yet to encounter some of other conspicuous spring visitors. No orioles, tanagers, grosbeaks, or buntings yet...
