RFI: Red Rock Canyon Open Space, El Paso and CO Springs suggestions

Hi all,

I'm thinking about getting out of my Jeffco-Denver-Boulder bubble this weekend and heading down to Red Rock Canyon Open Space and perhaps another site or two around town. Being unfamiliar with both, I'm hoping someone may be willing to clue me in on any "birdier" trails in the open space compared to others, as well as good spots fairly nearby that would be worth checking out.
