Higbee Valley Road (Otero County)

Four of us were on Higbee Valley Road in Otero County at 6:40 this morning, high 30's with a breeze. At the cemetery there was a male Golden-winged Warbler (coming back out at 1, we didn't re-find it). A bit farther down at the first ranch where there's a bridge we saw a male Summer Tanager and three White-winged Doves. Many Bullock's Orioles, Canyon Towhees, Ash-throated Flycatchers, Eastern Phoebe, Lark Buntings, a real surprise were three Pinyon Jays (I don't think eBird liked that too much), first of year Black-headed Grosbeak, and a splendid Black-throated Sparrow made it a very diverse species day.
