I saw some nice birds around Pueblo this morning.  In the Osprey Picnic Area, in Rock Canyon, below Pueblo Reservoir dam:  highlights were: Clay-colored Sparrow (early date for the Pueblo Bird Checklist Area), Eastern Phoebe (singing), Black Phoebe (singing), lots of Yellow-rumped Warblers, a Lincoln's Sparrow, several House Wrens.

At Pueblo Reservoir, the Red-necked Grebe continues off Sailboard launching area.  At North Picnic Road, with a small flock of Yellow-rumped Warblers, there was an Orange-crowned Warbler, a Chipping Sparrow, and Gray-headed Junco.  On the shore in the weeds, one Semipalmated Sandpiper, two Western Sandpipers, and several Least Sandpipers.  Yesterday, this location had a Willet.  Seems like a new shorebird has been here daily of late.

Other birders roaming around this morning at Pueblo Reservoir, saw a Western Kingbird, a Great and several Snowy Egrets, Peregrine Falcon, White-faced Ibis.

A pretty birdy morning, before the wind came up.
