Very weird day - banded 40 new birds today, half caught on the 10:30 net run.  Which means we had an average of about 2 on each of the other runs today, so we spent most of the morning trying to stay awake to be ready if the big run came! That big run included 12 hatch year Chipping Sparrows (all still with streaked breasts), which was just part of a huge flock coming through the station area.  Here's the breakdown for the morning (40 new plus 1 return from last year):

Mourning Dove 1
Orange-crowned Warbler 5
Yellow Warbler 3
Yellow-rumped Warbler, Audubon's 1
Common Yellowthroat 4
Wilson's Warbler 10
Western Tanager 1 (FOS)
Chipping Sparrow 12
Clay-colored Sparrow 1
Song Sparrow 1 return, banded 2021
Lincoln's Sparrow 1
White-crowned Sparrow, Gambel's 1
