Boulder County Audubon Society is seeking an audio-visual specialist to set up and run the in-person AV component of our monthly programs. These meetings are hybrid, with a Zoom audience as well as in-person attendees. Meetings occur on the fourth Tuesday in January, February, March, April, May, September, October, and November. AV assistance is required for roughly 4 hours (6:00 to 9:30 or so) at each meeting, to set up, run, and pack up the AV gear, which is supplied. Running the AV setup requires learning the appropriate hookups and attending to sound quality issues, as well as ensuring that the speaker is visible and audible in the camera.

Requirements include the above knowledge and:

  • A laptop computer

  • Transportation to the venue in Boulder

  • Coordination with the Zoom host for the meeting

  • Coordination with the Programs Committee

  • Comfortable with technology in general, including using Zoom as a host

  • Experience with audio engineering for live performance would be very valuable to have but can be trained; basic understanding of sound recording is helpful

  • The ability to pay attention to multiple simultaneous events

  • Ability to be punctual and dependable

Payment is $125 per evening. Boulder Audubon’s programs feature local speakers sharing their natural history expertise and photographs of birds, mammals, insects, and their ecological interactions. To see examples of recent topics, visit our YouTube channel
