El Paso county Colorado Springs American bittern at Prospect Lake in Memorial Park

The American bittern that many have reported is still spending time at Prospect Lake in Memorial Park. I watched it for about 30 minutes Saturday afternoon before it flew off to the southeast at about 3:40 PM. I saw it eat a minnow while it was on the shoreline next to the tall weeds at the southern tip of the lake.
