Woodhouse’s Scrub-Jay- yard area in central Woodland Park on 2-7, new species for area, although often observed nearby in Green Mountain Falls about 8 miles away and 750 feet lower, Aiken Loop Trail on 2-17
Black-billed Magpie- 4 on 2-11
Clark’s Nutcracker- 1 on 2-3, 2-7
American Crow- 25 on 2-6, 12 on 12-18, 14 on 2-21
Golden-crowned Kinglet- On Mule Creek Trail on 2-9, Aiken Canyon Trail on 2-17, Upper Mule Creek Trial on 2-23, singing on Upper Limbaugh Canyon Trial on 2-24
Townsend’s Solitaire- Aiken Loop and Canyon Trail on 2-17, calling
Bushtit- Aiken Loop Trail on 2-17
Mountain Chickadee- singing on 2-10, sang once on 2-3 South Platte River near Lake George, Aiken Loop Trail on 2-17
White-breasted Nuthatch- 1 on 2-5, 2-10, 2-15, 2-16, 2-17, 2-22, 2-23, a few calling on Lovell Gulch Trail on 2-5, Aiken Loop Trail on 2-17, Upper Mule Creek Trial on 2-23
Pygmy Nuthatch- many calling on Lovell Gulch Trail on 2-5
Brown Creeper- 1 on 2-13, singing, also 2-14, 2-21, Lovell Gulch Trail on 2-5, Aiken Canyon Trail on 2-17, Upper Mule Creek Trial on 2-23
European Starling- at heated birdbath, 2 on 2-6, 1 on 2-8, 2-15, 2 on 2-19, singing on 2-24
Spotted Towhee- Aiken Loop Trail on 2-17
Dark-eyed Junco- all 5 subspecies during snowstorms events on 2-6, 2-8, 2-17, 2-19, 2-20, 2-21, 2-22, singing on Upper Mule Creek Trail on 2-23, Gray-headed- Aiken Loop Trail on 2-17, Pink-sided- Aiken Loop Trail on 2-17
Red-winged Blackbird- singing on 2-3 South Platte River near Lake George
Evening Grosbeak- 1M,1F on 2-11, a few on 2-13, 2-21
Pine Siskin- a few around all month, Upper Mule Creek Trail on 2-23, more vocal in late Feb.
House Finch- brief singing 2-2, singing 2-5, 22 on 2-14, 18 on 2-16
Cassin’s Finch- Small flock of up to seven birds around all month

Abert’s Squirrel- 2 on 2-5, 1 on 2-8, 2-13, 2-14, 2-16, 2-18, 2-20, 2-22
