ADAMS COUNTY:

June 24 a (m) Baltimore Oriole was reported at Metzger Farm Open Space;
first reported by Lauren Burke on June 17. It was paired with a female
Bullock’s Oriole. Please view from a distance.
BOULDER COUNTY:
—-On
June 21 a singing Field Sparrow was reported from Old Saint Vrain Rd by
Sue Riffe. This is the first Boulder County eBird record for any summer
month.

June 22 a singing male Chestnut-sided Warbler was reported from
Bluebell Canyon, 100-200 meters up McClintock Trail from the stone
bridge. First reported on June 11 by Peter Gent.
EL PASO COUNTY
--- On June 26 a singing Northern Parula was reported from Fountain Creek S Circle Drive to Academy Blvd by Richard Bunn .
GRAND COUNTY:

June 26 a Prothonotary Warbler was reported at “Village Rd at 10 Mile
Drive” by Martin Dibble. This would be an extraordinary species here.

LA PLATA COUNTY:

June 22 a Dickcissel was reported at Pastorius Reservoir by Susan
Allerton. It was seen again in mid-afternoon, then seemed to disappear.
It is the
first eBird record for the county. Years ago a Dickcissel was photographed nearby.
LARIMER COUNTY:
---On
June 22 an adult Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was reported at Twin Bridge
Lake by Caleb Alons. Twin Bridge Lake is reached by heading east on E
Harmony Dr from I-25, then south on Latham Pkwy to Twin Bridge Drive. An
extensive search did not turn up this “kingbird on a stick” on June 23.
---On June 26 two Field Sparrows were reported at Soapstone Prairie Natural area by Matthew Webb.
OTERO COUNTY:
—-On
June 24 a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was reported SW of La Junta along
Homestead Loop entrance road by Jim Thompson. It harassed other birds
and even a skunk!
