Bill Schmoker is offering a class on gulls!

Don't miss this unique opportunity to join him for an in-depth look at one of the more confusing, yet ubiquitous, bird species.

Despite being about as far from a coast as a place can be, Colorado offers fantastic gull-watching opportunities and ID challenges. Many birders ignore gulls, deeming them too difficult to distinguish. But they're a big part of our avifauna with 22 species recorded in Colorado. This class will give you the skills to identify and better understand gulls. An evening workshop in Boulder precedes a field day near Pueblo (location subject to change based on recent sightings) for some eyes-on practice. This site typically offers one of the state's best collections of wintering gulls. Hone your skills with an expert and return home ready to impress your birding companions.

This class is offered by the Boulder County Nature Association as part of our 2017 Ecology Field Classes. Go to http://bcna.org/education.html and click on this class title in the center of the page. You'll be taken to the registration site.
