Margie Joy and I looked for the Common Redpoll, late morning, and didn't re-find it. Though the junipers in the State Wildlife Area and at Turkey Creek had a lot of birds. The best bird was a Greater Roadrunner, also a Cassin's Finch, three Sage Thrashers, a Western Scrub-Jay, five Cedar Waxwings, Pine Siskins, American Goldfinches, House Finches, White-crowned and American Tree Sparrows, lots of Mountain Bluebirds and American Robins. Bigger birds included: Common Raven, a Red-tailed Hawk, and a Northern Harrier.
Hopefully the flock of siskins and goldfinches that had the redpoll with them, will appear again.
