Wonderful observation by Charles Hundertmark and group in Jackson
County. Of interest, first known record of Common Merganser nesting was
at Chatfield State Park, June 18, 1986, reported by Jan Justice, and
Stan Justice.
We were in a kayak, in Hugh Kingery's Heronry, and female Common
Merganser with 14 flightless young swam by.
