dark duck in Pueblo 12/18 and 12/20

Hi all,

I photographed a dark duck along the Arkansas River, below Pueblo Reservoir dam on both 18 Dec and 20 Dec.  I'm not sure if the these four photos are of the same bird, or not.  I would guess they are.  I'm interesting in hear what people think about this bird(s).

Have you heard anything back about this bird? Any reason it isn't a "pure" Mexican Mallard? No underwing shots?

I might head down for a day or so Tuesday or Wednesday (we're up in Denver, en route to Reno later this week), so hopefully I can go looking for this bird! :-)
