At about 8:15, when we got out of our car at the Chico Basin bird banding area, the male Golden-Winged Warbler that was found yesterday by Brandon Percival and Bill Maynard was singing vigorously from the nearby elms.

Actively feeding in the mid and high levels, and he did show an affinity for elms over cottonwoods.   Handsome fellow!

Did anyone happen to go to Chico today to confirm/refind the Golden-winged?  We'd gone to Michigan a couple of weeks ago and missed it, and are hoping for a reprieve, so we'll probably run down tomorrow morning either way.

Also, it's been a while since I've been to chico-- are there maps at the self-pay station to remind me how to get to the banding area where the bird was seen?

Thanks,
