A total of 10 of us enjoyed the Alamosa Bird Walk to celebrate International Migratory Bird Day and we had ideal conditions. Sunny and no winds, which made the orange of the Bullock's Oriole absolutely outrageous. With no winds, we were able to listen to the chorus of birds and learn some of their songs as well. We had 67 species in a brief morning of birding. Highlights were Bullock's Orioles, White-faced Ibis, Black-headed Grosbeak, Common Yellowthroat, Sora and Am Peregrine Falcon. A very special moment was getting a young birder a life bird....a House Wren, which made us all happy. A great day for birding and bird education.....
