On a chilly (but dry) morning, we had about a dozen birds on the first net run and thought we might be in for a busier day. That quickly changed... but we were still excited to have our first Red-shafted Flicker and Spotted Towhee of the season. The sparrows are starting to replace the warblers as we get into some 'real' fall weather. 19 newly banded birds of 8 species today:

Northern 'Red-shafted' Flicker - 1
Wilson's Warbler - 11
Orange-crowned Warbler - 1
House Wren - 1
Spotted Towhee - 1
'Oregon' Dark-eyed Junco - 1
Lincoln's Sparrow - 1
'Mountain' White-crowned Sparrow - 1
'Gambel's' White-crowned Sparrow - 1

We are open 6 days a week, weather permitting through October 23.  Closed Mondays.  Click here to register to visit - we are offering one-hour slots (up to 12 visitors at a time); 7:30-8:30 most weekdays, and 8-9, 9-10, and 10-11 on weekends.  Come visit!
