The headline today was returns - 7 birds banded in prior seasons caught for the first time this year.  Six were migrators returning to breed.  One, and likely the oldest of the group, was a Black-capped Chickadee banded in 2015.  He probably has spent his whole life in the area around the banding station and the Nature Center feeders.  Here's the breakdown of those 7 birds plus the 14 new birds banded:

Least Flycatcher 1
Black-capped Chickadee 1 return, banded 2015
House Wren 2
Gray Catbird 4 new, 3 returns banded 2021, 1 banded 2019
Yellow Warbler 2 new, 1 banded 2021
MacGillivray's Warbler 1 (FOS)
Common Yellowthroat 2
Yellow-breasted Chat 1 return, banded 2021
Song Sparrow 1
White-crowned Sparrow, Mountain 1

We are open 6 mornings per week, closed on Mondays.  Registration is required to visit on the weekends - there are three 1 hour sessions, starting at 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30.  Go here to register.  There are school groups every week day, arriving about 9:30.  Individuals may drop by early mornings during the week although there are groups visiting early on some days.
