It has been tough birding for a few weeks now with unceasing strong winds we have had. Not even early mornings are available as winds howl through the night. So today, winds be danged, I birded the Malm Trail in Alamosa figuring there was some protection from the wind. It actually turned out well as the birds were also trying to get out of the wind into protected cover. So highlites were....Black-chinned Hummingbird at 15 feet, Cordilleran Flycatcher, MacGillivrays Warbler,  Wilson's Warbler, Cinnamon Teal, Bullocks Oriole and Hermit Thrush. 

So maybe bird migrant numbers are increasing as I hoped. 

Recently at MV NWR, there is a lone Snow Goose on the auto tour loop. Very late!
