Hey, everybody. Some notes from around Boulder County, these past 10 days:

Today, Mon., Feb. 6, Boulder Reservoir. 1 first-cycle great black-backed gull, 1 first-cycle lesser black-backed gull, 1 first-cycle Thayer gull, 9 bald eagles all in one tree, and at least 3 eagles elsewhere around the Rez.

Sun., Feb. 5, Hecla Lake; with Andrew Floyd. 1 female wood duck, 1 singing mourning dove.

Sun., Feb. 5, Boulder Reservoir. 1 greater white-fronted goose, gazillions of "white-cheeked geese," 2 lesser black-backed gulls (1 third-cycle, 1 second- or third-cycle). Also thought I heard a Say phoebe, but it was distant, and I never got a visual on it.

Sat., Feb. 4, Walden Ponds; with Peter Burke. 1 eastern screech-owl whinnying along the creek, 1 adult lesser black-backed gull at Cottonwood Marsh.

Fri., Feb. 3, Greenlee Preserve. 1 golden eagle.

Thurs., Feb. 2, Greenlee Preserve. 1 ruby-crowned kinglet.

Wed., Feb. 1, Boulder Creek at Arapahoe Avenue & Foothills Parkway. 2 ridiculously cooperative American dippers.

Sun., Jan., 29, Hecla Lake; with Andrew Floyd. The mother of all bushtit flocks.

Sat., Jan. 28, Greenlee Preserve; with Allan Burns. 1 killdeer.

Thurs., Jan. 26, Valmont Reservoir; with Hannah Floyd. 2 adult lesser black-backed gulls.
