Today started out slow either due to the storm overnight diverting the birds around the ranch or that it was so cool for the first couple hours this morning kept the birds inactive. We had a nice variety of species and added seven new species for the season. Thirteen species were captured with highlights including a Cassin's Vireo, Blue Grosbeaks, two Willow Flycatchers, and a Yellow Warbler. Winds have shifted to the south and temperatures will warm up again tomorrow through the weekend so I am not anticipating any big movements of birds south.
