It seems a flood of birds are coming in as the floodwaters of the Rio Grande are spreading over the fields, pastures, roads and wetlands. Today, on the State Street Bridge levee walk, there was the about the 8th SLV record of Black-throated Blue Warbler (*male) for our area lazily feeding 20 feet ahead. What a gorgeous bird and one I had not seen for over 20 years. Managed to get some pics of this fantastic, and nervous bird. Other birds in the area were Black-headed and Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, Yellow, Yellow-rumped and Virginia Warblers, Cordilleran Flycatcher, and a quick look at what appeared to be Blue-headed Vireo.

So if you are in the neighborhood, go to State Street bridge and park on the south side of the river on the west side of the road. BTBL was right at the parking lot as of noon today. I was glad a few others got to see this bird...BTW Malm Trail is flooded so bring boots!
