Birders,

Yesterday afternoon as we were getting ready to leave the house and I was about to pull the car out of the garage, every bird at our feeders took off in a panic and great flurry of wings.  I then saw a large accipiter approaching the yard from the north.  I first thought a juv female Cooper's but it was much too big with very heavy streaking on chest and belly and broad supercillium.   It flew about 20' over my head in pursuit of the fleeing doves and Eurasian Collareds (hope it caught one) and between my neighbor's house and mine.  I have no doubt it was a juv Goshawk.  My neighbor took a picture of one in her tree last spring and I have periodically seen them in the neighborhood.
