Chris Owens, Dick Schottler, Dean Shoup, Kathy Mihm-Dunning and I birded NE
Colorado today and we were able to re-find the Buff-breasted Sandpiper on
Weld County Road 105 north of the Morgan County line. Photos are at the
link below.

Also found at this location was a nice Savannah Sparrow (photos also at link
below). Superficially resembles a Baird's Sparrow, but median crown stripe
is white and lores are yellow, among other things.

Crow Valley Campground had two Black-and-White Warblers and a Great Crested
Flycatcher.

Migration still slow, but several species seem to be absent (Orchard
Orioles) or nearly absent (Kingbirds).

I was unable to find the Buff-breasted Sandpiper on the WCR 105 pond at 1:30 PM on Sunday, September 7. Just after I arrived a Prairie Falcon flew over the pond and about 6 peeps scattered and flew southeast. I stayed at the pond for 45 minutes but no birds returned. I did see four brightly colored Savannah Sparrows.
