Hello Team;

We are working on an STB Linux board based on Cobalt 2025.
According to the documentation, "Linux" is not listed as a valid option for the os.name parameter.
Our device runs on a Linux-based operating system.
Could you please advise on which value we should use for os.name in this case?

Thank you for your guidance.

Hello,

A generic "Linux" is not accepted for the os.name, correct. Linux is a kernel, not an OS, after all.

The certification documentation should also include a list of already defined suitable OS names that may be applicable in your case.

Please contact your assigned YouTube Account Manager or reach out to youtube...@google.com for the exact guidance on how to set it on production devices.

Thanks,
Kaido
