Error fetching video from webcam

I followed the setup from bamos/openspace.

I am having this error and can't figure out the way to resolve it. The solution from the thread here https://github.com/cmusatyalab/openface/issues/397 gives a black screen and doesn't detect anything.

The solutions from the thread here https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/cmu-openface/TNZR_QVR8Nc describes mainly around the insecure http protocol, but the current update has https protocol.

shouldn't this work?
