In my back-and-forth with the PDX-ABFM organizers (Lotus is the special feature marque this year - after MG), one of the guys offered to make a club logo which I have attached below.  If preferred he can replace the city skyline with a forested area with Mt Hood and Mt St Helens.

BTW: as a featured marque, we will get special siting (probably up under the trees) and special recognition in the assorted ABFM brochures and such.  I will bring a canopy and I have secured a Lotus banner/flag which I’ll attach to the canopy.  Sadly, no tables or chairs - my Elise can only carry so much.  Might be an opportunity to sign up new members?  Registration is here.

It would be good to get a good turnout of Lotus cars.  Please contact any other owners you know who may not be club members and encourage them to sign up.  This e-mail list includes ELCC up in Seattle so perhaps we can get some of them to come down.

Also… the Western Washington ABFM is having their show on July 11th at St. Edward State Park in Kenmore featuring the “Cars of James Bond”.  You can register here.  Registration is open until July 4th.

Thanks John. Wish I could be there 😒
I think trees and maybe even multnomah falls would be cool

Hello David:

First of all, I'm very glad that I received your and John Abbott's messages.

And yeah I knew that the Portland ABFM extravaganza weekend was going to showcase MGs this year, along with sub-text feature of Lotus cars... that's really great!

I have already communicated with all of the members of the Evergreen Lotus Car Club (ELCC) about the basic plans of the Portland ABFM, and have encouraged them to participate, but I don't know how many of our club's members will drive down to enjoy that event.

It was nice of John to mention the Western Washington All British Field Meet (WW ABFM) car show, scheduled for Saturday, July 11th, with an optional, "Noggin, Nosh & Natter" dinner get together on Friday night, July 10th. And he's right, we are going to have a special "James Bond's Cars" display on the Show Field, during the WW ABFM... which should be pretty cool.

If anybody has any questions or comments, just give me a call or send me an email.

John Abbot:

Beautiful design on a club logo for the ABFM. Maybe it's time to rethink the one that's been used for decades.

I have a Type 54 and more likely than not will put it on the grass this year. So there's one.
