Unfortunately, there is no documentation for extension yet. I'll try to add some in a couple of days. If it's okay, can you please share what kind of probe-type you're planning to add?

Message being something like Kafka?  I just got aboard the cloudprober hype train and made a probe for Kafka which produces a message/consumes a message and reports the average latency and health of said communication.  All done via the external probe idea.

I am working on properly coding the if/else logic and error handling, but is a basic example of a cloudprober hitting kafka.
