I regularly receive messages like David just received. In my case, companies looking for clients have found out that I was once President of the IPhA and are soliciting for business. Whoever sent Lotto that message must have seen he is a journal editor. 

Many of us receive similar spam phone messages by companies that have learned our name. Often they have also used the phone numbers of other people to conduct their campaigns.Given the massive extent of these questionable activities, it is stunning that there are not federal laws that can effectively prohibit these activities. Before the January 6th insurrection, I received a text message requesting my attendance at Trump’s rally. Everyone has become fair game.
