Hello to all,

Setting out again this weekend to go explore some more of Oregon's climbing.

This time its the menagerie wilderness spires around rooster rock. 20 miles up the cascadia canyon outside of sweet home.

We will be there most of the weekend exploring the spires looking for routes. If anyone wants to join we will be camping at yukwah campground Fri and Saturday night and hope to get two solid days of climbing in; approach will be from rooster rock trail 2 miles to rooster rock mostly uphill.

Let me know if you have any info on the menagerie wilderness, or would like to come out for some camping or whatever.

Cheers

Richard!

Hey all, a little update from our trip last weekend. We approached from rooster rock trailhead 3399 that goes straight up to rooster rock and a few other spires, rooster tail, possum, hen and chicken rock, ALL of which had ZERO possible bolted routes. There were a few bolts here and there but a lot of moss to tend with as well. We only had enough energy to scout the southern half of the wilderness. We met a hiker at the lookout at the top(0.1 mi past rooster rock) and he pointed out that the other spires, mostly on the north end of the wilderness, were accessible via gentle logging roads.

We plan on exploring more of the other spires in the menagerie wilderness, if anyone else wants to join let me know. Dates to come :)

Cheers

Awesome, thanks for the update, Richard!  Sorry that there was no yield.

I def want to take part in the exploration process regardless of what we find, as soon as I'm feeling up to it.  Sounds like tons of fun. Getting there...!
