File Manager locks up when using local network files

When I connect clementine to my locl network to play files, after opening a folder and loading a few the whole clementine program locks up and i have to kill it.  If any1 can tell me how to resolve this I would greatly appreciarte it.

Sorry, forgot to add details.  xubuntu 18.04 latest clementine in repos.  The files are on a samba share.

Does it work if you try a single file?
Try opening clementine on the command line, which can provide hints as to what the problem is

Had to change samba share to allow anonymous login, now it works.  I did start from cli and got this:
