I am having issues with permissions on Ubuntu when accessing an sdCard.

The sdCard is formatted OK and the premissions are wide open. (And Strawberry seems to access it fine)

Can anyone let me know whether there are any appropriate tips and work arounds?

What other information do you need? When I try and add the directory I simply get a message saying that clementine cannot access /media.

Clementine thinks an SD card is a device, as if it were a stand alone player
Can you navigate to it through the Files tab?

No.

Navigating through 'files' I just see media as empty.

Your file manager see's the sd as an external device, but clementine doesn't?

My experience using Clementine is that anything you plug in & is recognized by a file browser, will be on clementine as a device

When all else fails reformat

No worries.

It is definitely a Clementine issue. Various other software recognises the card and behaves as expected. Even Strawberry - which I think is a fork of Clementine.

I could reformat. Or I could just use Strawberry :-)

Thanks for your time.
