New Counselor 2.898 - upgrade mandatory

Hello, and welcome to the latest round-up from Clash of Legends. A few weeks of Counselor and website improvements have piled up, so here they are in one place.

Please update Counselor. Recent turn files need a current Counselor to open. If you are on an older version and a new turn will not open, updating fixes it. Download the latest at wiki.clashlegends.com. If your Counselor offers a one-click update, even easier (see below).

Counselor updates itself now

When a newer version is available, clicking the update notice does the right thing for your build: the portable and macOS builds install the update and apply it the next time you start Counselor; the Linux and Windows-portable builds download it and open the folder; the Windows installer opens the download page. Updates never restart Counselor on their own, so an unfinished turn is never interrupted, and a failed update rolls back instead of breaking your install.

Know whether your orders are in

A new indicator in the status bar (bottom-right) tells you at a glance whether the orders open in Counselor match what the server received (green), whether you have unsent changes (amber), or that it cannot tell right now (grey). Hover for details.

See your characters at a glance

The characters table now has a Gender column, so you can tell your commanders, agents and emissaries apart more easily.

Safer duels and assassinations

Duel and assassination orders now hide your allies by default, so you cannot accidentally target a friend. Need to betray one? Tick ALL to reveal every target. The ALL box now clears itself after each order you save, so it cannot quietly stay on and catch you out next time.

Copy anything

Copy and paste now works everywhere. Right-click any text (reports, order details, dialogs) for a Copy/Cut/Paste menu, or just use Ctrl+C.

Portraits that keep themselves current

Counselor notices when a newer portrait pack is available and offers it with one click, or fetches it quietly if you switch on Auto-download portrait updates in Settings. The latest Fire & Dragons cast now arrives without hunting for a download, and army banners for the Blacks and the Greens appear on the map.

Smoother turn loading

Fixed a crash that could stop certain turn results from opening. And if a turn file was made by a newer Counselor than yours, the message now says exactly that and points you to the update.

Control who can submit your orders

My Config now lets you choose who may submit orders on your behalf: no one, your team (allies in that game), or anyone holding your EGF file. The choice is enforced at upload, so a betrayal by a supposed ally is one setting away from impossible.

Lighter results emails: the PDF is your choice

Your turn-results email now carries just the game file by default, keeping your inbox light. Want the full PDF too? Turn it on any time under Turn results in My Config.

Auctions: "no bids" is real intelligence

Sending a character to find out the bids when nobody has bid now completes normally: your character still trains and the usual cost applies, and your report says plainly that the field was empty. Knowing the field is empty is as useful as knowing who is bidding. Wild dragon behaviour also got some improvements.

Dear Joao,

   I went to the site, and then downloads, and the only thing I saw was counsellor-last version for Java 8 . that you uploaded on June 7^th.

 

 

  I downloaded it  and ran it, and it seems just like other versions.   When I click on About it says version 1.8000

  The other thing from June 7^th is just an instruction file.

   What am I doing wrong?
