Hi hi,
Am a cider maker from Chile, currently travelling in Devon looking for artesanal/craft cider houses. Wish to try and see how the cider is done here, chat cider. I tried a number of ciders in pubs etc, but they are mostly comercial and not that interesting. Visited Find&foster which was amazing! Are any similar around? Where would you recommend to go in Devon?
Thanks a lot!
Cheers
/T

Gray's Cider is worth a look and as someone else mentioned, Sam's - their dry is one of the very best in my opinion.

I have an artesanal sidreria in Stgo, getting my apples in Patagonia and around. Most welcome  to visit me and I can hook you up with the rest of us;)
Cider people were incredibly welcoming in Uk and if I would be more than happy to guide in Chile and even in  and Peru!
Cheers and welcome to a our side of the cider world!

When you write Stgo - is this abbreviation for Santiago? Can't find a town in Chile by the name of Stgo...

Sorry Claude, well noted. I will be more careful next time. Yes, it is Santiago de Chile. We usually abbreviate it as Stgo.
Cheers

I was writing Tanja and just saw your message Claudea. Here is what I sent to Tanja.
.

My wife and I have a small orchard (pears and apples) in central Washington, USA.  We also have some cider apples that we sell to a local cidery.  We are flying to Santiago Feb 24 and hanging out for a week. Then we fly to Mendoza March 2nd and hang in that area for 3-4 weeks. Eventually we fly out of Buenos Aries April 10th back home.  We have accommodations in Santiago and a week in Mendoza. After that we are "just in time tourists" . We would like to meet cider and fruit growers in Chile and/or Argentina when we are visiting.  Do you know if there are cideries and/or orchards in these areas?  We are planning some days trying to find places to fly fish as well.   Thanks  Allan and Cassie Warman

I am pretty sure Tanja will have more useful links... For my part, all I know about cider in Chile and Argentina is in my book Cider Planet. I gathered most of the info from Internet and from some personal email with some of them.

Hi all,
Cool and welcome to LatAm!

Happy to direct you to the most authentic cider houses in Chile but you will need to fly or drive there. Also, to the apple producers, if you wish.
In Argentina, I can ask in the WhatsApp cider group, but can connect you to some in Mendoza, Patagonia and Buenos Aires.
I m back to Santiago on the 26 of Feb, most welcome to my urban Sidreria!
Should we keep in touch privately or the  others here wish these recommendations too?

Cheers Tanja (#sidraSantiago)
