chrome OS flex and screen reader: how to enable chromevox during chrome installation

hello guys, i would like to enable the chromevox screen reader on installation of chrome OS flex.

how do i setup a chromebook independently, is it just pressing ctrl + alt + V on the first booting?

keep in mind that flex is still in early access so you may experience bugs so I recommend you to use cloudready for the time being, do not wurry as you get chromevox and its easy to install

Hello,

The official keystroke combination for activating and deactivating Chromevox is Alt-Control-Z. Usually, you should get a rising tone when activating Chromevox and a descending tone when deactivating Chromevox. Hope this helps you and those using Chromevox for the first time out...

Also when activating chromevox for the first time wait a few seconds since
chromevox needs to be downloaded.

Cloud ready may be possible but if you go with chromevox on flex and do
run into bugs, you can report them to the accessibility team and help
improve accessibility. to have an alternate reporting route, download and
set up be my eyes and google accessibility is inside the technical tab in
that program.

Just wanted to point out that CloudReady is actually owned by Google now, and ChromeOS Flex is effectively a continuation of what CloudReady once was. Google snapped up NeverWear, the original creators of CloudReady back in late 2020 and had planned to use it to make ChromeOS more widely available in the future. ChromeOS Flex is that future.

chromevox comes with flex. its just a stripped down version of chrome OS but for x86 machines

its pretty easy to do and lets you do it when you start up and wait, personally though I recommend getting a real chromebook as you will be able to use android apps that way

I strongly recommend getting a legal chromebook, flex is born from an unofficial maintainer called neverware, and even though its bought by google, its still unofficial and its just a web browser compared to real chromebooks, also, how many times have I told everyone spam is not acceptable! I want to help others, not have to deal with spam
