Hello,
My library is working on becoming CIPA compliant and that extends to chromebooks that we have available for patrons to check out. I am curious if you all may have suggestions or resources for filtering solutions to make these machine compliant. The Chrome admin panel cannot filter traffic on the machine in one and we are looking for third party applications to run on our devices Additionally, is anyone familiar with adding a policy page to the chromebooks on startup? we would like to better notify our chromebook users of our CIPA policies. I appreciate any further insight.

Hi Jonah, If you're using managed guest sessions, in the admin console Settings under the Managed Guest Sessions tab > Content, you can turn on Google SafeSearch which filters offensive/inappropriate content, enforce restricted mode on Youtube, and block individual site URLs. Under Managed Guest Sessions > Chrome Safe Browsing you can turn on SafeSites URL filter which filters sites for Adult Content.

If that's not enough, this Chrome extension called GAT Shield looks promising: https://gatlabs.com/knowledge/tech-tips/becoming-cipa-compliant-with-g-suite-for-education/

To add a policy, navigate to Managed Guest Sessions (MGS must be turned on) > General > Custom Terms of Service and upload a policy as a txt file. It will pop up at start up, and users must click OK before logging into the computer.
