Hi,

I am currently coding language samples consisting of picture descriptions from patients with frontotemporal dementia (e.g., PPA). Is there a way to mark lines that you don't want to be included in the analysis? For example, sometimes the participant will direct a question/statement to the investigator and it is not related to the picture description. I want to transcribe these lines, but don't necessarily want to include them in an analysis.

Thanks,

Mara

Mara,

We use "[+ exc]" postcode in some CLAN commands to mark tiers that should be automatically excluded from any analyses. KIDEVAL command, for example, will exclude all tiers marked with "[+ exc]" automatically. Other commands will require you to specify -s"[+ exc]" option to exclude tiers marked with "[+ exc]" postcode. You can use that or any other postcode you want to invent for that purpose as long as you remember to specify option
-s"[+ you_post_code]" on the command line.

Leonid.
