Cannot get Excel output using KWAL

Dear Chibolts,

Knowing that it is not possible to create an Excel output with the COMBO command, I tried using the following KWAL command string to export target utterances including a verb followed by a gerund with no luck:

 KWAL +s"v*|*^part|*-PRESP" +t*PAR +t%mor +f +u +d6 filename.cha

It produces an empty Excel output. When I use the same string with COMBO and the +d2 switch, it produces a chat file including the target utterances.

Could you please help me with this so that I can get an Excel output for the KWAL command above?

Zeynep,

Your COMBO command was missing one more option for searching on dependent tiers, Here is what will work:

combo +s"v*|*^part|*-PRESP" +t*PAR +d6 +d7 filename.cha

Dear Leonid,

This COMBO command only provides the frequency of utterances (how many times a verb is followed by a gerund) including the target structure, but not the actual utterances as a KWAL command would do (on a separate column on the spreadsheet). Can you suggest such a command? Thank you!
