"error opening local movie file" ?

Hi!

After using this program for years, I'm suddenly unable to open videos. It happens with every transcript-video pair I try. The videos open just fine in QuickTime, and I haven't changed the transcript or videos at all. I restarted my computer and it's still happening.

This is what I do:

Open the chat file.

Open Walker Controller.

Click Open Media.

Click the corresponding .mov file (with identical name).

Error message "error opening local movie file"

Any idea how to fix this? I'm at a loss. Thanks in advance!

Hi,

What error message are you getting? Are you using the latest version of CLAN? If you are using Mac with Sonoma OS, then you need to update your CLAN. If you are using PC, then try to uninstall CLAN completely and re-install it again. You can try the same if you are using Mac too.

Hello,

The error I was getting was "error opening local Movie file." I uninstalled CLAN and updated my CLAN to CLANc and that fixed it. I didn't realize I was out of date; I guess the previous version stopped working very recently (in the last couple of weeks)?
