Dear Users,

I am studying early lexical acquisition and I have a question about a clan command.
What I want is to see all the utterances that only the child (CHI) produced. But not the mother (MOT) or father (FAT) and not the MOT-CHI. I tried some commands but they did not work because in the output there are words that are not produced by the the child.

I need your help..

Dear Enes,

Theoretically, you get this result in commands such as  FREQ and KWAL simply by adding the +t*CHI switch.  If this is not working, you would need to send me an example input file illustrating the problem.

Dear Brian,

I used this command "freq +o +t*CHI " because I need the descending order. It works but some words are not supposed to be produced by the infant. And then, when I checked that words and saw that are used by father to child.

I attached an output of the analysis. For example, I want all analysis under one such as combination of chı to fat, chı to mot or chı to exp under one freq analysis. However, it gives seperate analysis for the words of CHI

Use this command:

freq +o +t*CHI +o3

To get only words spoken by a child use this command:

freq +o +t*CHI:

To get only words spoken by child to mother use this command:

freq +o +t*CHI-MOT:

CLAN assumes that every +t option's argument ends with wildcard character, like +t*CHI*. So, "+t*CHI" will match "*CHI:", "*CHI-FAT:", "*CHI-MOT" and anything else that starts with "*CHI".

Leonid.
