Hello,

I was wondering what the process would be to transfer a normal transcription in Word into CLAN language. Is there a tool that can change the format of the transcription in Word or would I have to do that manually?

A normal Word transcription looks like this:
Mother: What is this?
Child: It's a truck!
Mother: Yes, it is!

YES!!! Save the Word doc as plain text (.txt) under save option.
In command window, type: text2chat  (used to be  textin) and select your file(s).
You will need to do a little post fixup (speaker tier will be TXT, some punctuation will need removal, etc.
But, pretty fast!

You can also do this by highlighting the text in Word and then selecting cut.  Then go to a blank open text window in CLAN and paste.
