If I want to search a large number of phrases and want to put each phrase into a single file for efficiency, do I need each phrase to have carets between the words, as  in
Put^me^in^the^zoo

OR, if you simply put each phrase on a single line in the search file, such as
Put me in the zoo

??

Dear Nan,
If you want to search for a large number of phrases, then you would want to put these many phrases into a file with one phrase on each line, as in

put me in the zoo
please sit down

You don’t need quotes or carets.  Then you  use FREQ or KWAL with the +s...@filename.cut switch.
