Hi Leonid and Brian!

I would like to run freq for the Child Directed Speech in many files at once. I know  I can do this for all the different speaker roles:
freq +d2 +t@ID="*target_child*" +u  +o3 @

but if I could do this, I wouldn't have to extract all the different speaker roles from the .cha files:
freq +d2 -t@ID="*target_child*" +u  +o3 @
This command gives this error:
CAN'T FIND ANY DATA TIERS IN ANY OF INPUT FILES
PLEASE PROVIDE A SPECIFIC SPEAKER WITH +t OPTION

As it is, I figured out the speaker tier codes for the target children from the output of the first freq command above and then did this:
freq +d2 -t*CHI -t*PAU +u  +o3 @

And that's a workable solution, but I was just wondering why the t switch doesn't work both ways in this command and if that is generally true for @tier info.

thanks!
Sarah

Sarah,

The -t option with @ID was never implemented, because people always seemed to want to including target_child in the analyses. I have changed CLAN to allow excluding -t@ID speakers and I will install new CLAN on chilled web site tomorrow.

Leonid.
